The Senior Paralegal will play a key role in supporting a growing legal function within a fast-paced, technology-driven financial services environment. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of core legal operations, corporate governance, contract workflows, and regulatory documentation. Working closely with leadership and cross-functional teams, you will help improve processes, introduce scalable solutions, and leverage technology to make legal operations more efficient. The Senior Paralegal will support the development of an efficient and scalable legal operations function by managing core corporate, contractual, and regulatory activities. The role requires strong ownership, organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
- Manage daily legal operations, corporate administration, and legal workflow processes.
- Maintain corporate records, minute books, governance documentation, annual filings, and entity information.
- Prepare, review, coordinate, and organize contracts, NDAs, signature packages, templates, and other legal documents.
- Support regulatory and compliance initiatives through documentation management, evidence gathering, licensing activities, registrations, and regulatory responses.
- Manage legal requests, priorities, deadlines, and matter tracking to ensure timely completion.
- Improve legal processes by creating templates, playbooks, workflows, knowledge management resources, and technology-enabled solutions.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to streamline legal support and improve operational efficiency.
- Assist leadership with maintaining effective legal practices in a highly regulated and evolving environment.
The ideal candidate combines strong corporate legal experience with excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills. They should be comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities, and identifying opportunities to improve processes through technology and automation.
- Certified paralegal or equivalent Canadian corporate law clerk/paralegal qualification.
- 5+ years of experience supporting an in-house legal team or law firm.
- Strong knowledge of corporate governance, corporate records, commercial contracts, and legal administration.
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and follow-through abilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and bring structure to complex or ambiguous situations.
- Interest in technology, AI, and automation tools that improve legal operations.
- Strong written communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Experience in fintech, payments, financial services, crypto, banking, or other regulated industries is an asset.
- Previous experience improving legal workflows, implementing legal technology, supporting startups, managing vendor contracts, or coordinating external counsel is considered a plus.
