Senior Claims Learning & Development Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced learning and development professional to shape the future of workers’ compensation claims training within a fast-growing, technology-driven insurance environment. In this role, you will lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of impactful learning programs that strengthen claims operations, compliance, and adjuster performance. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop modern training strategies, onboarding experiences, and skills development initiatives that support operational excellence. The position combines instructional design, facilitation, coaching, and process improvement in a highly collaborative and remote-first setting. Ideal candidates are passionate about adult learning, claims operations, and empowering teams through engaging, practical education. This role offers the opportunity to influence organizational growth while supporting innovation across claims systems, workflows, and compliance initiatives.

Accountabilities:
  • Design, develop, and facilitate engaging training programs for workers’ compensation claims professionals across virtual and in-person environments.
  • Lead onboarding, adjuster development, and ongoing learning initiatives, including the creation and management of a Claims Skills School.
  • Develop scenario-based learning content, job aids, process documentation, and knowledge resources aligned with operational and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with Claims Quality & Compliance, Claims Technology, Claims Adjudication, and other stakeholders to ensure training reflects current best practices and system capabilities.
  • Support system rollouts, process changes, and organizational initiatives through just-in-time learning and change management support.
  • Track training effectiveness through performance metrics, quality scores, and learner feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Coach and mentor claims professionals, supporting skill development, onboarding success, and long-term career growth.
  • Deliver presentations, learning communications, and knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance collaboration and operational consistency.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Advanced degrees such as Master’s, JD, or PhD are a plus.
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in claims, insurance operations, or related learning and development functions.
  • Strong background in workers’ compensation claims handling, with California jurisdiction expertise preferred.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering instructional programs, curriculum development, and adult learning initiatives.
  • Expertise in facilitating both virtual and in-person training sessions using modern instructional methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical abilities, with experience measuring learning outcomes and training effectiveness.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a remote and fast-paced environment while adapting to evolving business needs.
