Business Development Manager

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Business Development Manager in Italy.

This role is focused on driving enterprise growth within the global payments and fintech ecosystem, working at the forefront of digital commerce innovation. You will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and closing strategic enterprise clients across key European markets, helping them access a unified payment infrastructure that simplifies global expansion. The position involves managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles with senior decision-makers, particularly in fast-growing industries such as e-commerce, travel, mobility, iGaming, and SaaS. You will operate in a highly dynamic, scale-up environment where ownership, creativity, and commercial thinking are essential. Working closely with technical and customer-facing teams, you will shape tailored solutions that address each client’s operational and payment challenges. This is a high-impact, revenue-driving role where you will directly contribute to market expansion and the evolution of modern payment orchestration.

Accountabilities:
  • Own the full enterprise sales cycle, from prospecting and lead generation to negotiation and deal closure across European markets.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities through outbound outreach, networking, industry events, and referrals.
  • Engage and influence C-level and senior stakeholders, delivering consultative sales approaches tailored to complex enterprise needs.
  • Build deep expertise in target industries such as e-commerce, iGaming, travel, mobility, and SaaS to position tailored value propositions.
  • Collaborate closely with Customer Account Managers and Solutions Engineers to design compelling proposals and ensure smooth implementation handover.
  • Maintain accurate CRM pipelines (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot), ensuring strong forecasting and visibility across all deal stages.
  • Stay up to date on payments, fintech trends, and regulatory developments to identify competitive advantages and opportunities.
  • Develop and refine your own sales playbook with a founder-like mindset, operating independently and proactively.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in enterprise business development or complex B2B sales environments.
  • Strong track record of closing deals with large enterprise clients involving long sales cycles and multiple stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of payment technologies, financial services ecosystems, and relevant industry regulations.
  • Experience working in startup or scale-up environments, with the ability to build pipeline independently without reliance on inbound leads.
  • Strong consultative selling and solution-based sales skills, particularly in complex organizational structures.
  • Fluent English is required; additional languages are a strong plus.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems such as Salesforce or HubSpot and modern sales tools.
  • Highly self-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable working in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
