PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Tarrant County Kids is an esteemed childcare program that exists to support working families who need a safe and nurturing place after school. Affiliated with Girls Inc. of Tarrant County, Tarrant County Kids is on a mission to provide a nurturing after-school environment where children aged 4-12 can flourish. Our licensed care services are offered in collaboration with elementary schools in Arlington, Fort Worth, and Lake Worth.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Site Instructor is responsible for program implementation as assigned by the Site Manager, Monday through Friday, 6:30am-8:00am
- Coordinate with the Site Supervisor to plan and facilitate fun activities with students in our programs.
- Ensure the safety and security of the students during activities to include off campus field trips.
- Keep supervisor and TCK Manager informed of problems, concerns, needs and unusual activities in a timely manner.
- Assist with program planning with other staff members.
- Maintain a respectful attitude towards organizational leadership, coworkers, students, parents and school employees.
- Maintain an attendance at work of 95% or higher and is on time regularly.
- Maintain a positive work ethic.
- Assume daily responsibility without constant supervision.
- Share upkeep of program facilities.
- Assist the Site Manager in maintaining students’ attendance records.
RELATED AGENCY ACTIVITIES:
- Participate in periodic assessment of own performance.
- Participate in staff meetings and trainings as requested.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma.
- Ability to communicate with youth and foster their participation in program planning, problem solving, and decision making.
- Ability to provide professional references and clear extensive background checks.
- Maintain certification in first aid and CPR and current tuberculosis screening.
- Possess reliable transportation and a valid Texas driver’s license.
- Ability to fill in with coverage at other sites as needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successful work experience of at least one year in childcare of another child-based field.
- Formal education in special skill area of social work, education, recreation, psychology, or sociology.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position requires the ability to operate phones, computers, and other office equipment, and the physical ability to perform light lifting. This person must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with professionals and program participants. Work is performed in an office or school gym setting. This person may be required to travel to various locations throughout Tarrant County. Generally, the working conditions have little or no exposure to extremes in safety hazards or hazardous materials.
