Mountain Laurel Medical Center (MLMC) is seeking a creative, organized, and community-focused Marketing, Communications and Outreach Coordinator to support our marketing, communications, community relations, and outreach efforts.
Reporting to the Manager of Business & Community Development, the Marketing, Communications and Outreach Coordinator helps implement and coordinate MLMC's day-to-day marketing, communications, community relations and outreach activities. This position manages a diverse portfolio of communications and outreach projects; creates engaging written and visual content; coordinates campaigns, events and community initiatives; and works across departments to promote MLMC's services, programs, partnerships and community impact while maintaining consistent branding and messaging.
- Implement day-to-day marketing and communications activities in alignment with organizational priorities and direction from the Manager of Business & Community Development.
- Create written and visual content for social media, the website, advertisements, newsletters, recruitment efforts, and other communication channels.
- Maintain a proactive content calendar and coordinate digital communications supporting MLMC services, programs, events, campaigns and organizational initiatives.
- Design flyers, advertisements, brochures, signage, digital graphics, presentations and other branded materials, and capture photography and video for communications use.
- Support and coordinate marketing campaigns, new and existing service-line promotion, website updates, advertising placements, print projects and vendor/media activities.
- Coordinate community engagement and outreach activities throughout MLMC's service area, including event planning, registrations, logistics, materials, staff participation and on-site representation.
- Support MLMC-sponsored community events, campaigns and special initiatives and maintain outreach materials, displays, promotional items and supplies.
- Maintain project trackers and coordinate marketing, communications and outreach projects, departmental requests, deadlines, deliverables and status updates.
- Support major campaigns, service launches, special events, community initiatives and other strategic projects.
- Monitor social media, website, campaign and outreach performance; track participation and other measures; and use data and feedback to help identify opportunities for improvement.
- Gather and organize information, data, photographs, testimonials and other materials supporting communications, grant-funded initiatives and community benefit reporting.
- Collaborate with clinical, administrative, operational and Human Resources teams and maintain positive relationships with community partners, vendors, media representatives and the public.
- Participate in departmental planning, committees and workgroups as assigned.
Required:
- Associate degree in marketing, communications, public relations, business, community development, or a related field, or a high school diploma or equivalent with at least three years of relevant experience.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Experience in marketing, communications, social media, community outreach, public relations, or a related area.
- Experience using social media and basic marketing or content creation tools.
- Strong writing, editing, graphic design, organizational, project management, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to create clear, accurate, and engaging public-facing content for diverse audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, exercise sound judgment, and work independently.
- Ability to comply with applicable requirements governing patient information, photographs, testimonials, and public communications.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, business, community development, or a related field.
- Three or more years of experience in marketing, communications, social media, community outreach, public relations, or a related area.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, social media platforms, content management systems, and graphic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Basic photography and video content creation skills.
- Experience in an FQHC, community health center, nonprofit organization, or setting serving underserved populations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Creativity and an eye for clear, engaging visual and written content.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
- Comfortable representing MLMC at community events and interacting with the public.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout MLMC's service area.
- Availability for occasional evening and weekend community events.
