Job Description

SVP, Product Management, Digital Banking

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a SVP, Product Management, Digital Banking based in United States.

This is a senior product leadership role responsible for the strategic direction, execution, and commercial performance of a comprehensive digital banking domain.
You will lead multiple product squads building experiences across retail banking, commercial banking, account opening, onboarding, and self-service.
The role combines strategic product vision with direct people leadership, deep digital banking expertise, and hands-on technical judgment.
You will shape experiences that influence how consumers and businesses interact with financial institutions across digital channels.
Success requires a strong understanding of banking workflows, regulatory requirements, core-system integrations, and multi-tenant SaaS environments.
You will also champion AI-first product development practices, helping teams use modern AI tools to improve specification quality, velocity, and execution.
This role offers the opportunity to lead a critical product domain while influencing revenue, customer acquisition, retention, and the broader transformation of digital banking.

Accountabilities:
  • Own the strategic vision, product roadmap, priorities, and commercial outcomes for the Digital Banking domain, aligning squad output with customer needs, business objectives, and platform strategy.
  • Lead multiple product squads covering retail digital banking, commercial banking, digital account opening, onboarding, self-service, and cross-channel experiences.
  • Hire, develop, coach, and performance-manage Product Builders while establishing high standards for product judgment, technical decision-making, AI fluency, execution quality, and delivery velocity.
  • Serve as the senior subject matter expert for digital banking, guiding teams through complex consumer and commercial banking workflows and ensuring solutions address real-world financial institution requirements.
  • Design and oversee digital account-opening and onboarding experiences, including identity verification, KYC/CIP, fraud checks, funding, retries, exceptions, and manual-review workflows.
  • Ensure consistent experiences across mobile, web, branch, and call-center channels while balancing regulatory disclosure requirements with intuitive, low-friction user experiences.
  • Guide product teams on core-to-digital integration patterns, event propagation, synchronization, reconciliation, APIs, data models, and the complexities of multi-tenant banking platforms.
  • Translate product strategy and technical capabilities into measurable business outcomes, representing the domain in executive planning, client discussions, and board-level updates.
  • Drive commercial performance through product decisions that support customer acquisition, retention, revenue growth, and expansion.
  • Model AI-first product development practices through hands-on use of tools such as Kiro and Claude, specification-driven development, AI-assisted iteration, and continuous workflow improvement.
  • Establish standards for how product teams leverage AI throughout specification, design, problem-solving, and implementation while maintaining strong product judgment and quality.
  • Coordinate closely with other product leaders on shared surfaces and dependencies, and collaborate with Architecture, Product Operations, UX, QA, Security, and Applied AI teams.
  • Partner with Architects on system design, API contracts, data models, technical integrity, and cross-squad consistency.
  • Partner with delivery-focused teams to establish clear acceptance criteria, deployment readiness, release quality, and production stability.
  • Continuously improve product operating rhythms, squad velocity, specifications, and scalable practices across the Digital Banking domain.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in product, engineering, or technical leadership roles within digital banking or financial services, with deep hands-on experience building, operating, or leading teams responsible for digital banking products.
  • Proven senior-level technical product management leadership experience within a product organization, fintech, banking technology, or related environment.
  • Deep expertise in digital banking platforms, including digital account opening, onboarding orchestration, KYC/CIP, fraud workflows, and multi-channel banking experiences.
  • Strong understanding of commercial banking and banking processes; lending experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience with multi-tenant SaaS platforms serving multiple financial institutions and understanding of how configurable capabilities can be delivered without extensive client-specific engineering.
  • Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance considerations, including Reg E, Reg DD, BSA/AML, and UDAAP.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and developing product leaders, engineers, or technical product managers and building high-performing teams that consistently deliver working software.
  • Ability to operate effectively at both strategic and tactical levels, from defining long-term roadmaps to reviewing detailed product specifications and technical decisions.
  • Strong commercial orientation and experience making product priorities and tradeoffs based on customer needs, business outcomes, and revenue impact.
  • Active, hands-on experience with AI-assisted product design and development workflows, including using AI for specification, iteration, research, and problem-solving.
  • Comfortable operating within a specification-first, AI-native development methodology and modeling AI-first practices for a broader product organization.
  • Strong technical fluency across REST APIs, data modeling, system architecture, CI/CD, deployment practices, and modern front-end and back-end technologies for web and mobile.
  • Ability to engage deeply with technical Architects and engineering teams on system design, integrations, dependencies, and technical tradeoffs.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, executive presence, and decision-making skills.
  • Highly accountable, proactive, and comfortable working in an environment that requires ownership, speed, adaptability, and continuous improvement.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States. This position is currently unavailable in New York City and Illinois, with other locations considered on a case-by-case basis.

Benefits:

  • Base salary range of $165,000–$180,000 USD.
  • Annual cash bonus and equity options commensurate with role level and experience.
  • 100% remote work.
  • 401(k) plan.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Paid time off.
  • Opportunity to lead a highly strategic digital banking product domain with significant influence on customer experience and commercial performance.
  • Exposure to AI-first product development and modern fintech technology.
  • Senior leadership scope across product strategy, people management, technical decision-making, and commercial outcomes.
