Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a People & Culture Lead based in United States.
This is a high-impact opportunity to build and lead the People function within a fast-moving, remote-first consulting environment.
You will own the full employee lifecycle, from attracting and selecting exceptional talent to onboarding, development, and offboarding.
The role combines talent acquisition, people operations, and internal communications into one connected function focused on building a strong, aligned team.
Working closely with founders and senior leadership, you will have significant autonomy to shape processes, policies, and the employee experience.
You will bring structure to a distributed, multi-country workforce while continuously improving how the organization operates and communicates.
The ideal candidate is a thoughtful builder who uses data, sound judgment, and modern AI tools to create scalable People practices.
This role is designed for someone who thrives in ambiguity, takes ownership, and sees People & Culture as a strategic driver of business performance.
- Own full-cycle recruiting across strategy, engineering, and operations, including sourcing, screening, structured assessments, interviews, reference checks, offers, and proactive talent pipeline development.
- Design and manage rigorous assessment processes that identify genuine capability through realistic working sessions, take-home scenarios, structured evaluation, and calibrated scoring.
- Maintain high-integrity hiring practices by identifying and reducing inflated claims, application fraud, and AI-generated noise while keeping the candidate experience professional and fair.
- Lead onboarding and offboarding from end to end, ensuring new employees become productive quickly while departures are handled smoothly, consistently, and compliantly.
- Manage day-to-day People Operations, including employee questions, contracts, policies, PTO, payroll and benefits coordination, and compliance requirements across a distributed, multi-country workforce.
- Develop and improve performance management, compensation, benefits, and other people policies, ensuring processes are clear, practical, and well communicated.
- Serve as the trusted first point of contact for employees on People-related matters, exercising sound judgment and escalating sensitive issues when appropriate.
- Own internal communications, translating leadership decisions, company updates, project wins, and important information into clear communications that keep remote teams informed and connected.
- Strengthen culture through recognition, feedback mechanisms, team rituals, events, and other initiatives that reinforce shared values and employee engagement.
- Use AI tools as part of daily workflows and continuously iterate on People processes to make the function more effective, scalable, and aligned with the organization’s evolving needs.
- Operate with autonomy, make informed decisions, and constructively challenge existing approaches when improvements are needed.
- 5+ years of experience, or equivalent demonstrated capability, across People Operations, Talent Acquisition, HR Generalist, or related People functions, ideally within consulting, agency, technology, or other fast-paced environments.
- Proven full-cycle recruiting experience, particularly for senior or specialized positions, with the ability to evaluate talent and capabilities rather than simply coordinate interview processes.
- Experience supporting employees across U.S. and European employment contexts, with U.S.-based experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement People processes from the ground up rather than simply administering established systems.
- Strong operational judgment, attention to detail, and discretion when handling confidential information, compensation matters, performance issues, and hiring decisions.
- Proficiency with modern AI tools and genuine curiosity about how generative AI can improve and transform People functions.
- Comfortable working autonomously within distributed, remote teams across multiple time zones, with strong communication and follow-through.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to build trust across all levels of an organization.
- Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, proactive learning, and an ownership mindset.
- Ability to turn ambiguity into practical processes, make sound decisions, and continuously improve the way work gets done.
- Competitive compensation with performance upside.
- Comprehensive benefits package.
- Remote work within the United States.
- Paid time off (PTO).
- Autonomous work environment with meaningful ownership over the People function.
- Leadership exposure: Direct collaboration with founders and senior leadership.
- AI-native environment: Daily opportunity to work with modern AI tools and explore their impact on People practices.
- Career and professional growth: Opportunity to build and evolve People processes within a fast-moving consulting environment.
- Final compensation package depends on experience and location.
