About the RoleAs an Adolescent Drug & Alcohol Counselor, you will play a vital role in supporting youth involved with the juvenile court system. This position focuses on providing individual, family and group counseling to adolescents struggling with substance use, while fostering a safe, supportive, and restorative environment.
You will:
- Deliver counseling to youth and families in their homes and community settings.
- Facilitate group sessions that promote sobriety, accountability, and positive decision-making at the Mechanicsburg office.
- Collaborate with community partners, treatment team, probation officers, and family members to ensure comprehensive care.
- Document client progress in an electronic health record system and maintain compliance with all reporting requirements.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development at our Bethlehem, PA training center.
- Most of your time during the school year will be working in the early evening hours.
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field (preferred). Bachelor's Degree (required)
- Experience working with adolescents, preferably those involved in the juvenile justice system.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build trust and rapport with youth and families.
- Ability to be flexible, planful, and supportive in balancing multiple responsibilities.
- Knowledge of substance use treatment approaches and restorative practices is a plus.
- Flexibility to adapt to diverse backgrounds and needs.
