Full-Time | Nashua, NH

Greater Nashua Mental Health is looking for a third shift (8PM - 8AM) Emergency Services Clinician to join our Emergency Services team! This role provides crisis intervention, assessment, stabilization, and short-term treatment services to individuals and families experiencing behavioral health emergencies. Working alongside first responders, hospitals, healthcare providers, and community partners, the ES Clinician helps stabilize psychiatric crises, reduce the need for hospitalization or incarceration, and connect individuals with appropriate ongoing care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency crisis evaluations for youth, adults, and older adults in hospitals, community settings, and GNMH locations.
  • Conduct comprehensive crisis assessments, risk evaluations, and mental status examinations.
  • Deliver crisis intervention, short-term counseling, stabilization services, and case management.
  • Assess suicide risk, violence potential, mental health needs, and appropriate levels of care.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices and screening tools to support crisis stabilization and treatment planning.
  • Triage individuals in behavioral health crisis and coordinate referrals to appropriate services and resources.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, case managers, hospitals, law enforcement, first responders, and community agencies.
  • Conduct emergency room consultations and evaluations in partnership with medical staff.
  • Participate in IEA and Conditional Discharge processes in accordance with NH regulations.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation.
  • Participate in team meetings, supervision, training, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Support a 24/7 crisis response system, including non-traditional shifts and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related mental health discipline required.
  • 1–2 years of behavioral health, crisis services, or related clinical experience preferred.
  • Strong assessment, diagnostic, crisis intervention, and de-escalation skills.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based treatment approaches and recovery-oriented care.
  • Valid driver license, reliable transportation, and insurance required.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and Microsoft Office applications.
