About the Role:

The Assistant Director of Nursing plays a pivotal role in supporting the Director of Nursing to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care within healthcare facilities. This position involves overseeing nursing staff, coordinating clinical operations, and implementing policies that promote patient safety and compliance with regulatory standards. The Assistant Director will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance care delivery, optimize resource utilization, and foster a positive work environment. They will also be responsible for mentoring nursing personnel, facilitating professional development, and addressing staffing needs to maintain optimal coverage. Ultimately, this role is essential in driving nursing excellence and contributing to the overall success of the healthcare organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of nursing practices, healthcare regulations, and patient care standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams and coordinate complex clinical operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or related advanced degree.
  • Experience in a leadership role within a hospital or long-term care setting.
  • Certification in Nursing Leadership or Administration (e.g., Nurse Executive Certification).
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and healthcare informatics.
  • Proven track record in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Supervise and support nursing staff, including scheduling, performance evaluations, and professional development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate patient care plans and improve clinical outcomes.
  • Monitor and manage nursing budgets, resources, and supplies to ensure efficient operation of nursing services.
  • Participate in quality improvement programs and patient safety initiatives to enhance care delivery.
  • Address and resolve staff and patient concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies to maintain a skilled nursing workforce.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting in accordance with legal and organizational requirements.
