Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for effective support of the development, implementation, and maintenance of Product and Processes through participation in Advanced Product Quality Planning; participation in and surveillance of Incoming, Set-up, In-Process, Final, Containment, and Dock Audit Inspection Processes; participation in Corrective, Preventive and Continual Improvement Actions. Also responsible for the support and maintenance of the TS-16949 Quality Management System. Maintains assigned reporting for the communication and assessment of Process and Product performance.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Employees will be trained to all applicable company standards as identified on the company training matrix TR-401

  1. Participates in Product Launch and Change Activities, including fulfillment of Customer Specific Requirements and Sanko Gosei APQP system requirements.
  2. Participates in compiling and maintaining APQP related documents (Flow Chart, PFMEA, Control Plan)
  3. Participates in compilation, timely submission, and maintenance of PPAP requirements.
  4. Responsible for creating and maintaining Standardized Operator Work Instructions, Quality Standards, Appearance Criteria, and Quality Samples.
  5. Responsible for maintaining high standards of quality and reliability; and providing effective communication of Quality related issues.
  6. Participates in Corrective, Preventive, and Continual Improvement Activities.
  7. Supports TS16949 & ISO 14001 Management Systems
  8. Participates in Measurement System Activities including GR&R studies, Development of Gage Instructions, Training of Inspectors, and calibration.
  9. Participates in the development, implementation, monitor, and reaction to Product and Process Verification.
  10. Supports and participates in company efforts to resolve customer driven quality issues.
  11. Supports and participates in the compilation of company performance metric reports
  12. Supports continuous improvement efforts in product and process performance.
  13. Other assignments as designated by the Quality Manager or Operations Management Team.

SPECIFICATIONS:

  1. Strong leadership ability and a high degree of ethical and professional standards. Must be trusted by subordinates, peers, and superiors, and must be willing to accept responsibility for their performance.
  2. Experience with Plastic Injection Molding Processes and Product.
  3. Minimum of an Associate degree or 2 years experience.
  4. Requires a commitment to continuous improvement in order to meet ever increasing demands for improved quality, cost, and delivery performance.
  5. Ability to communicate effectively with the Manufacturing Operations Team
  6. Strong problem solving skills of both the interpersonal, and the technical side of the operation.
  7. Organized and structured approach to the work environment, with strong attention to details.
  8. Ability to Train Operators and Inspectors in processes related instructions.
  9. Ability to use Microsoft Office Applications and Plex manufacturing software.
  10. Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to quickly learn new technologies.
  11. Ability to handle stressful employee situations, and to treat people with respect.
  12. Ability to excel in a team-based environment.
  13. Ability to perform in a proactive mode, and to plan and respond accordingly.
  14. Must be willing to travel on a limited basis.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

The Quality Technician reports to the Quality Manager.
