This is a senior accounting leadership opportunity for an experienced finance professional to oversee end-to-end accounting operations across multiple regions or countries. You’ll lead a team of accounting professionals while ensuring financial reporting, controls, and compliance requirements are consistently met. The role combines people leadership with hands-on oversight of close activities, reconciliations, payroll accounting, fixed assets, cash management, expenses, and intercompany transactions. You’ll act as a key escalation point for complex accounting matters and partner closely with Controllers and business leaders. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, audits, and process improvements. Lead and develop a team of accounting professionals, establishing departmental goals, individual objectives, development plans, and performance expectations.
Oversee end-to-end accounting operations across assigned countries or regions, including payroll accounting, fixed assets, cash management, operating expenses, and intercompany transactions.
Ensure all financial reporting requirements, statutory obligations, and accounting deadlines are met accurately and on time.
Serve as a senior escalation point for complex accounting issues and guide team members toward effective resolutions.
Ensure accounting activities comply with applicable accounting standards, internal policies, procedures, and internal control requirements.
Support the Controller and business leadership during monthly close, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, financial reviews, and related activities.
Contribute to consolidated financial analysis and provide clear explanations and commentary on significant fluctuations.
Manage internal control testing and support internal and external audits, including statutory and quarterly reporting requirements.
Partner with Finance and Operations teams on annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, ad-hoc reporting, and financial planning activities.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen controls, increase efficiency, and enhance reporting quality.
Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure smooth financial operations.
Maintain high standards of accuracy, organization, confidentiality, and financial governance across all accounting activities.
7+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably gained within a multinational corporation, accounting firm, or similarly complex organization.
Proven experience in a managerial or team-lead capacity, including responsibility for developing and supporting accounting professionals.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or a recognized professional accounting qualification.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, policies, and financial controls.
Solid understanding of the full accounting close process, including journal entries, invoicing, accruals, expense allocation/distribution, reconciliations, and ad-hoc reporting.
Experience supporting financial reporting across multiple entities, regions, or countries is advantageous.
Strong understanding of business controls, compliance, audit processes, and accounting governance.
Experience with process improvement and identifying opportunities to make accounting operations more efficient is a plus.
Proven ability to work effectively with Controllers, business leaders, Finance teams, Operations, auditors, and other internal or external stakeholders.
Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to investigate complex issues and develop practical solutions.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Proactive, detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable operating in a rapidly changing environment.
Demonstrated ability to lead with professionalism, accountability, collaboration, and a continuous-improvement mindset.
