Job Description:
Consolidates load lists for all products shipping on trucks/carriers. Coordinates all loads leaving facility with loaders, liaisons, outside locations and Wilsonart drivers. Performs other tasks as required. This opening is for the Night Crew.
ESSENTAIL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures that all available material is shipped correctly, trucks are loaded and communicates status of shipments.
- Compares identifying information, weighs or measures items of shipments to verify information for bills of lading, invoices, orders and loading lists.
- Compares items packed with customer’s order and other identifying data.
- Prepares appropriate documents and keeps records to record shipments.
- Consolidate the load list of everything that goes on the shipment. Coordinate all satellite material for truck as it comes in.
- Prioritize the order in which the trucks are loaded, according to departure times/completion percentage. Assign the load list to the truck loaders.
- Provide direction to the truck loaders on priorities/shortages/satellite material/pre-load etc.
- Relay any new information to the truck loaders pertaining to their loads.
- Receive information from internal customers to coordinate their shipments for delivery.
- Coordinate discrepancies on trucks with management of different departments to verify the shipments.
- Coordinate with liasons when loads are changed due to weight/cube/backorder issues so they can relay the information to the warehouses/customers.
- Make decision on trucks that are over-gross/under-gross. (Take off /add product)
- Receive backhaul material and notify the appropriate contact that their material is here and coordinate what to do with it.
- When cross-dock shipments are not delivered have to contact fleet department to locate the shipment and coordinate getting the material on our trucks.
- Help DOC customers when they come in.
- Unloaded Fletcher, backhauls, or Pechal’s when needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Ability to operate a 10-key calculator.
- Ability to operate office machines
- Ability to type sufficient to process light typing.
- Knowledge of computers sufficient to enter and retrieve data.
- Knowledge of shipping and packing procedures.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
Ninety semester hours of college in Business Administration or a closely related field; or three years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE:
Must have two (2) years working knowledge of Distribution, clerical or Office Management.
WORKING CONDITIONS
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Continuously stand/walk or lift/handle/carry material or equipment of moderate weight (20-50lbs)
ENVIRONMENT:
Located in an indoor area with frequent exposure to mild physical discomfort from dust, fumes, temperature extremes, loud noises and bright lights. Examples: mail clerks, material handlers
