The Clinical Research Financial Coordinator I will coordinate clinical trial financial activities, ensuring accurate budgeting, billing plans, and compliance across research programs.
- Review clinical trial protocols, amendments, and investigator-initiated studies to identify procedures, services, and associated costs required for accurate budgeting.
- Collaborate with research teams, investigators, pharmacy, nursing, laboratory, imaging, and other departments to determine study requirements and distinguish standard-of-care versus research-funded activities.
- Prepare clinical trial budgets using internal costs, historical metrics, and sponsor proposals, supporting negotiations and final agreement development.
- Maintain communication with sponsors and internal contracts teams to finalize budgets and ensure financial terms are accurately reflected in agreements.
- Review final clinical trial agreements to confirm alignment between approved budgets, billing expectations, and contractual requirements.
- Develop study-specific billing plans and provide guidance to research coordinators to ensure procedures and supporting services are properly captured and billed.
- Coordinate with financial billing contacts to monitor billing and collection activities according to approved study budgets.
- Support research billing compliance teams by providing documentation, updates, clarifications, and corrections throughout the study lifecycle.
- Serve as a point of contact for resolving financial, billing, and compliance-related questions or issues.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to support successful clinical trial operations.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented finance or business professional with experience supporting complex processes, strong analytical skills, and an interest in clinical research operations.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- Approximately 5 years of experience in finance, business management, or related operational areas.
- Experience reviewing financial information, managing budgets, or coordinating complex administrative processes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret detailed documentation and translate requirements into accurate financial plans.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy, compliance, and quality.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including research, finance, administrative, and operational stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate information across multiple groups.
- Proficiency with computer applications, spreadsheets, databases, and financial tracking tools.
- Experience in healthcare, clinical research, academic research, or regulated environments is a plus.
- Competitive annual salary range of approximately $49,700 to $82,100, depending on qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
