Shifts/Days: PM/Varies
Scope of Position:
The Housekeeping Coordinator will be responsible for creating 100% guest satisfaction by assisting in the coordination of the Housekeeping Department.
Position Responsibilities and Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
• High School Diploma or GED certification and equivalent work experience required.
• Minimum 2 years of hotel housekeeping or similar experience required.
• Previous Supervisory experience in a hotel desired
• Bilingual English/Spanish required
Physical Demands:
• Long hours sometimes required, including nights and weekends.
• Light work-Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and /or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
• Ability to stand for long hours at a time.
Responsibilities that may include any and all of the following:
• Approach all encounters with guests and associates in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
• Run sold room reports, verify room status, determine discrepant rooms, prioritize room cleaning, and update status of departing guest rooms
• Document and resolve issues with discrepant rooms with the Front Desk.
• Prepare work orders for maintenance repairs and distribute to Engineering.
• Assumes the responsibility to notice when the guest is not satisfied and uses their best judgment as to when it is appropriate.
• Coordinates the assignment, cleaning and distribution of rooms to associates.
• Provides administrative support to Housekeeping Department.
• Answers phone and coordinates the fulfillment of guest requests.
• Follow up on return of items.
• Completes work assignments for Room Attendants and other staff.
• Reports room status to proper departments.
• Maintains accurate records of room status (i.e. out of order rooms, maintenance slips, general cleaning, etc.)
• Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications
• Participate in all department inventories.
• Attend meetings/trainings as necessary.
• Any other duties as required.
Reports to: Director of Housekeeping, Housekeeping Manager.
