About The Role
The Housekeeping Supervisor in the Housekeeping department is a hands-on, hourly, part-time role responsible for overseeing daily housekeeping operations to ensure a consistently clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and staff. This position supports the Housekeeping Manager by training and developing team members, coordinating work schedules, inspecting guest rooms and public areas, and stepping in as the primary leader when the Housekeeping Manager is away. The Housekeeping Supervisor is expected to lead by example, actively participate in room cleaning and organizing tasks, uphold quality and safety standards, and work weekends as needed to meet operational demands.
What You'll Do
- Supervise daily housekeeping operations, ensuring all assigned areas are cleaned and maintained to established standards.
- Train, coach, and develop housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and service standards.
- Assist with creating, adjusting, and communicating staff schedules to meet business and staffing needs, including weekend coverage.
- Serve as the person in charge when the Housekeeping Manager is away, making operational decisions and responding to issues as they arise.
- Clean guest rooms and public areas as needed, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and thoroughly.
- Inspect rooms and common areas for cleanliness, maintenance issues, and overall presentation, providing feedback and follow-up as required.
- Organize housekeeping supplies, storage areas, and carts to maintain an orderly, efficient, and safe work environment.
- Monitor inventory levels of linens, amenities, and cleaning supplies and communicate replenishment needs to the Housekeeping Manager.
- Address guest requests and concerns related to housekeeping in a professional and timely manner.
- Ensure all housekeeping team members follow company policies, safety guidelines, and sanitation standards.
- Collaborate with the Housekeeping Manager and other departments to support smooth daily operations and special projects.
- Assist in onboarding new housekeeping team members and supporting ongoing training initiatives.
Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping experience in a hotel, resort, or similar environment.
- Prior experience in a supervisory or team lead role preferred.
- Ability to train, mentor, and motivate staff to meet quality and productivity standards.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high standards of cleanliness and organization.
- Ability to work weekends and flexible hours as required by the operation.
- Comfortable performing physically demanding tasks, including standing for long periods, lifting, bending, and carrying supplies or equipment.
- Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks.
- Dependable and self-motivated, able to work independently when the Housekeeping Manager is away.
- Basic problem-solving skills and the ability to handle guest concerns professionally and promptly.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
- Eligibility to work in the relevant jurisdiction and ability to pass any required background checks.
The pay range for this role is:
17 - 20 USD per hour(Hyatt Place Lincoln)
