Community Medical Group is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and patient-focused Medical Assistant to join our team.

As a Medical Assistant, you will support providers in delivering high-quality patient care while helping ensure a positive experience for every patient. This role combines both clinical and administrative responsibilities and is ideal for someone who enjoys working as part of a healthcare team and making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain and document patient medical histories and personal information
• Measure and record vital signs, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration
• Prepare patients for examinations and clinical procedures
• Assist providers during examinations and patient care activities
• Explain physician instructions and treatment plans to patients as directed
• Prepare and administer medications under physician supervision
• Perform venipuncture and specimen collection as needed
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for testing
• Monitor vaccine refrigerator temperatures and maintain immunization records
• Ensure medications, vaccines, and sharps are stored according to AHCA regulations
• Monitor medication expiration dates and maintain accurate inventory controls
• Support providers in achieving HEDIS and preventive care measures
• Document patient encounters and maintain accurate records within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
• Communicate patient status changes and clinical concerns to providers promptly
• Review referral statuses and ensure referrals are appropriately documented and completed
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and all patient privacy and safety standards
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required
Medical Assistant certification from an accredited organization required
Phlebotomy certification preferred
• Previous experience in a clinical or medical office setting preferred
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications
• Knowledge of Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems preferred
• Strong understanding of medical terminology
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting
• Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care
Bilingual in English and Spanish or English and Creole preferred
