Lead Product Manager, Technical in United States at Jobgether
Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Lead Product Manager, Technical based in United States .
This is an opportunity to shape technically complex products within a growing, globally distributed R&D organization serving the private markets industry. As a Lead Product Manager, Technical, you will own a strategic product domain and develop shared platform capabilities that empower teams across the organization. You will define product vision, establish roadmaps, and align engineering and business stakeholders around priorities that drive long-term impact. Working at the intersection of product strategy, data, infrastructure, and emerging technologies, you will help create scalable, reliable, and secure solutions. You will also champion adoption, translate technical complexity into clear business outcomes, and use data and customer feedback to guide decisions. This role is ideal for an autonomous, technically curious product leader who thrives in ambiguity and enjoys building foundational capabilities that support company-wide growth.
Product strategy and ownership: Lead a large, technically complex product area, define success criteria, prioritize key problems, and establish a strategy aligned with broader business objectives.
Roadmap development: Identify short- and long-term opportunities, build consensus on priorities, and sequence initiatives based on engineering capacity, business needs, technical risk, and expected impact.
Shared platform capabilities: Treat internal platform services and shared capabilities as products in their own right, ensuring they are well documented, easy to adopt, and scalable across multiple teams.
Adoption and reliability: Establish clear expectations for adoption, reliability, and quality, and monitor how consistently teams use shared capabilities rather than creating separate solutions.
Technical decision-making: Partner with engineering leadership on architecture discussions, evaluating trade-offs involving build-versus-buy decisions, technical debt, scalability, and implementation sequencing.
Technology research and innovation: Research industry best practices and emerging technologies, including AI, and translate findings into actionable product strategy.
Stakeholder collaboration: Develop effective feedback channels with stakeholders across and beyond R&D, incorporating their insights into prioritization and product development.
Metrics and continuous improvement: Define success metrics and key performance indicators, track outcomes, and adapt product strategy as new information and business needs emerge.
Influence and adoption leadership: Communicate a compelling technical vision, build trust across teams, align stakeholders, and drive adoption through influence rather than direct authority.
End-to-end product leadership: Operate autonomously, apply first-principles thinking, and maintain a strong focus on customer needs, product quality, and security throughout the product lifecycle.
Professional experience: At least 8 years of experience in product management or a comparable role, including a minimum of 5 years working with technical platform, data, or infrastructure products.
Platform product expertise: Proven experience owning shared capabilities used across multiple teams, with a strong track record of driving adoption and creating value beyond a single team or function.
Technical problem-solving: Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical challenges and develop durable, scalable solutions that balance immediate needs with long-term architecture and maintainability.
Strategic thinking: Ability to connect product decisions to wider business goals, identify high-impact opportunities, and make informed prioritization decisions in evolving environments.
Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
Autonomy and adaptability: A track record of working independently in ambiguous environments, establishing direction, and building alignment without relying on predefined processes.
Cross-functional leadership: Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to earn trust, facilitate technical and business discussions, and drive decisions across teams.
Analytical mindset: Experience defining meaningful KPIs, measuring product outcomes, and using data and feedback to refine roadmaps and improve adoption.
Technical curiosity: Comfort participating in technical discussions and engaging deeply with engineering teams. Previous engineering experience is beneficial but not required.
Preferred AI experience: Practical examples of using large language model (LLM)-based agents to automate real-world workflows.
Preferred engineering background: Previous experience as a software engineer or in another technical role is an advantage.
Competitive base salary, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package.
U.S. base salary reference range of $200,000–$230,000; compensation for Canadian-based candidates may vary according to location, experience, skills, and applicable local pay requirements.
