About the Role:
The Lifestyles Assistant plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals by supporting and facilitating a variety of recreational, social, and wellness activities. This position focuses on creating an engaging and inclusive environment that promotes physical, emotional, and social well-being. The Lifestyles Assistant collaborates closely with residents, clients, or participants to understand their interests and needs, tailoring activities that foster community involvement and personal growth. By organizing and leading diverse programs, the assistant helps to build meaningful connections and encourages active participation. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to the overall satisfaction and happiness of those served, ensuring a vibrant and supportive atmosphere.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with diverse populations in a community, healthcare, or recreational setting.
- Basic knowledge of activity planning and group facilitation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in recreational therapy, activity coordination, or a related field.
- Experience working with older adults, individuals with disabilities, or in assisted living environments.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Proficiency in using scheduling and record-keeping software.
- Bilingual abilities or experience working in multicultural settings.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and implement a wide range of lifestyle and recreational activities tailored to the interests and abilities of participants.
- Assist in coordinating special events, outings, and group activities that promote social interaction and community engagement.
- Provide support and encouragement to participants during activities, ensuring safety and inclusivity at all times.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, participant feedback, and activity outcomes to help evaluate program effectiveness.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including healthcare and social services staff, to align activities with individual care plans and goals.
Skills:
The Lifestyles Assistant utilizes strong communication and interpersonal skills daily to engage participants and foster a welcoming environment. Organizational skills are essential for planning and executing diverse activities efficiently and safely. Problem-solving abilities help address any challenges that arise during events, ensuring smooth operations. Friday 9am-5pm
