Why Choose Us?
Cosán Group is a leading healthcare services organization committed to delivering exceptional preventive care for at-risk older adults. As a Compliance Specialist, you’ll play a critical role in supporting our healthcare regulatory compliance program through audits, investigations, risk assessments, and issue response activities. Join a mission-driven team where your expertise in compliance directly protects our patients, partners, and organization.

What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a detail-oriented Compliance Specialist to support Cosán’s compliance program across operational and clinical functions. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of HIPAA, Medicare care management programs, and OIG compliance guidelines, with experience conducting audits, investigations, and root cause analyses. You bring excellent documentation skills, sound judgment in complex situations, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently. You’ll partner closely with operational, clinical, and quality teams to maintain a compliant and ethical organization.

What You’ll Do
Compliance Audits & Documentation Reviews
  • Conduct compliance audits and documentation reviews across operational and clinical functions to assess adherence to regulatory and internal standards (Medicare, HIPAA, time tracking, etc.).
  • Perform root cause analyses of compliance concerns, including data gathering, interviews, trend identification, and development of actionable recommendations.
  • Validate corrective action effectiveness through follow-up audits, testing, trend review, and evidence-based closure documentation.
Investigations & Issue Response
  • Support the full lifecycle of internal investigations—from intake and triage through resolution and documentation of findings.
  • Support intake, triage, documentation, escalation, and tracking of compliance reports, privacy concerns, and potential regulatory issues.
  • Assist with HIPAA privacy incident reviews, breach-risk assessment documentation, and coordination of timely escalation and response activities.
Corrective Action & Risk Management
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop, monitor, and implement corrective action plans that address identified compliance risks.
  • Support fraud, waste, and abuse monitoring activities, including review of documentation, billing-related compliance risks, Medicare program requirements, and applicable OIG compliance guidance.
  • Monitor changes in healthcare regulations and payer requirements; proactively identify risks relevant to Cosán’s operations.
Policy, Training & Reporting
  • Contribute to the creation and annual review of compliance policies, SOPs, and regulatory reference materials.
  • Partner with Quality & Education team to develop or update compliance resources (policies, training, job aids) based on identified gaps or regulatory changes.
  • Assist with regulatory change management by assessing operational impact, communicating requirements, and supporting updates to policies, procedures, training, and controls.
Documentation & Compliance Reporting
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation of compliance incidents, audit results, risk assessments, and investigation outcomes in internal systems.
  • Contribute to the development of compliance monitoring tools, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms to enhance transparency and accountability.
  • Support compliance reporting, dashboards, committee materials, and trend summaries for leadership review.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Compliance, Public Health, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience in compliance, regulatory operations, or healthcare services.
  • Minimum 2+ years of healthcare compliance, auditing, or regulatory affairs experience.
  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA, Medicare care management programs (CCM, PCM, RPM), and OIG compliance guidelines.
  • Experience with healthcare investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Excellent written communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and maintain strong attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or similar credential.
  • Familiarity with compliance risks in virtual or remote care delivery models.
  • Experience supporting compliance in value-based care, care coordination, or health tech organizations.
  • Experience with compliance monitoring tools or audit management systems.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
  • Paid Time Off + Company Holidays.
  • Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance.
  • Complimentary Life Insurance.
  • 401(k) Plan.
  • Optional Short-Term, Long-Term Disability, Critical Illness & Accident coverage.
  • Employee Assistance Program including mental health resources.
  • Company-provided equipment (laptop, monitor, headset, etc.).

Work Environment & Requirements
  • Work Arrangement: Work from Home with flexibility.
  • Must maintain reliable internet connectivity and professional workspace for remote collaboration.
  • Occasional in-person meetings may be required for compliance reviews, audits, or strategic planning.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while managing documentation and compliance systems.
  • Ability to focus on detail-oriented work and communicate findings clearly.
  • Minimal travel required.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
