This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of Business Transformation & Operations based in Netherlands.
This is a senior, high-ownership leadership role combining business transformation, operational excellence, client advisory, and commercial growth.
You will diagnose complex organizational challenges across people, processes, technology, and management systems.
The role goes beyond strategy, requiring you to turn recommendations into structured plans, implementation, training, and measurable outcomes.
You will work directly with clients to understand their needs and shape engagements that address their most important business challenges.
You will also contribute to proposals, presentations, business development, and closing new opportunities.
Strong judgment and the confidence to constructively challenge senior leadership will be essential to driving meaningful change.
This opportunity is particularly suited to an experienced transformation leader who wants broad ownership and the potential to grow into a General Manager-level role.
- Diagnose organizational performance and operating models across people, processes, technology, workflows, and management systems to identify root causes and improvement opportunities.
- Design and redesign organizational structures, workflows, processes, accountability models, and management systems to improve effectiveness and scalability.
- Translate strategic direction into actionable transformation plans with clearly defined owners, milestones, dependencies, priorities, and measurable evidence of results.
- Lead implementation initiatives from planning through execution and adoption, ensuring recommendations are effectively embedded into day-to-day operations.
- Coordinate training, change management, and stakeholder adoption activities, and verify that implemented solutions deliver the intended outcomes.
- Lead client discovery sessions to understand business challenges, objectives, operational realities, and desired outcomes.
- Translate client requirements into appropriate transformation strategies, service engagements, and practical solutions.
- Contribute to proposals, presentations, commercial discussions, and new-business development activities.
- Support the sales process by identifying opportunities, shaping solutions, communicating value, and helping move prospective engagements toward closure.
- Build strong relationships with clients and senior stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor throughout transformation initiatives.
- Constructively challenge executives and senior leaders when data, evidence, or operational realities indicate that a different approach is required.
- Apply AI, automation, and technology-enabled workflows to improve organizational efficiency, decision-making, and service delivery.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and maintain alignment across transformation priorities, implementation activities, and business objectives.
- Significant leadership experience in organizational effectiveness, business transformation, management consulting, operational strategy, general management, or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated track record of taking transformation initiatives from diagnosis and strategy through implementation, adoption, and measurable results.
- Strong experience analyzing organizations holistically across people, processes, technology, structure, and operating models.
- Proven client-facing experience with the ability to build trusted relationships and communicate effectively with senior executives.
- Demonstrated sales, business development, consulting, or commercial experience, including contributing to proposals and closing new engagements.
- Advanced, practical experience using AI, automation, and technology-enabled workflows to improve business processes and outcomes.
- Strong strategic thinking combined with a highly practical, execution-oriented mindset.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Confidence to challenge assumptions and respectfully push back on leadership decisions when evidence supports an alternative approach.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity, resistance, and complex organizational environments.
- Experience commercializing, packaging, or productizing a professional service is a plus.
- Proven experience leading cross-functional teams through organizational change and resistance is highly valued.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent demonstrated professional capability is preferred.
