  • Up to 20% of travel may be required between locations.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Background checks are required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with FEA simulation and analysis methods for thermal analysis, tolerance analysis, test and measurement data analysis.
  • Understanding of biosensing or equivalent analog electrical systems.
  • Familiar with thermodynamics/heat-transfer and how that affects consumer product comfort.
  • Experience within the Human Factors domain and biomechanics research.
  • Experience with manufacturing techniques such as injection-molding, DMLS 3D Printing, CNC machining, and soft goods casting for materials such as silicones, plastics, metals, etc.
  • Familiar with 3D human scan data to analyze and describe morphological variations.
  • Ability to leverage and manage external teams (CM/Vendors) to maximize throughput and efficiency for complex component fabrication.
  • Highly organized and ability to present data using visual tools (graphs, animations, google docs, etc.) in clear and informative ways to the immediate team.
  • Capable of managing large-scale R&D projects from ideation to implementation.
  • Documenting best practices, SOPs, and validating design intent.
  • Proficiency in presenting engineering designs, proposals, and reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead rapid-prototyping efforts that will deliver multiple iterations of concepts in a short period of time.
  • Drive end-to-end discussions on system assembly design, prototyping, equipment & tooling needs for high precision ergonomic evaluation, and compliance requirements.
  • Apply engineering knowhow in the areas of thermodynamics, precision mechanism design and motion control.
  • Ability to execute multiple streams of work simultaneously and independently balance and prioritize project workload to ensure success against timeline constraints.
  • Collaborate with HW Engineering, Human Factors, and R&D teams to identify and solve complex early-stage challenges related to ergonomics, employing mechanical and electro-mechanical design and fabrication skills.
  • Design and build platforms and tools that can be leveraged across the hardware organization that build upon your expertise in ergonomic and anthropometric considerations for product realization.
  • Own or contribute to the investigation and technology maturation of various ergonomic design approaches within AR/VR products.
  • Effectively employ 3D computer aided design (CAD), 2D sketching, and advanced prototyping techniques to clearly communicate complex design ideas.
