The Opportunity
As Det-Tronics continues to accelerate growth, we are creating a Procurement Manager role to help transform procurement into a strategic advantage for the business. This leader will guide a team of buyers, strengthen supplier partnerships, improve material planning capabilities, and establish scalable procurement processes that support operational excellence and profitable growth. The Procurement Manager will serve as a key link between Supply Chain, Operations, Planning, Engineering, and Finance, ensuring material readiness while helping the organization navigate supply risks, customer demand fluctuations, and growth opportunities. You will have the autonomy to drive process improvements, implement best practices, develop talent, and lead initiatives that improve business performance, inventory efficiency, and supply chain resilience across a global manufacturing organization. Success in this role will help position procurement as a strategic business partner that enables sustainable growth and strengthens our competitive advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leads, coaches, and develops a team of buyers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Serves as the primary escalation point for supply disruptions and material shortages, partnering with suppliers and internal stakeholders to mitigate risk, maintain continuity of supply, and support customer commitments.
- Owns procurement operational cadence by facilitating buyer stand-up meetings, representing Supply Chain in cross-functional tier meetings, and driving timely follow-up, visibility, and resolution of supply-related issues.
- Partners closely with Planning, SIOP, Operations, Engineering, and Finance teams to align material strategies with customer demand, inventory objectives, capacity constraints, and business growth plans.
- Manages inventory planning parameters and procurement master data, including safety stock strategies, lot-sizing methodologies, lead-time management, and material planning settings to optimize working capital while maintaining service levels.
- Leads continuous improvement of procurement systems and processes through value stream mapping, process redesign, data governance, master data standardization, automation initiatives, digitization, and system optimization efforts that improve business performance, scalability, decision-making, and supply chain resilience.
- Supports strategic business initiatives including new product introductions, phase-in/phase-out activities, large order quotations, excess and obsolete inventory reduction, and global process harmonization to ensure material readiness and successful execution
What You Bring
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field.
- 5+ years of procurement, supply chain, or materials management experience withing a manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years of direct people leadership experience with responsibility for coaching, developing, and leading procurement or supply chain teams.
- Demonstrated experience managing supplier relationships, material availability, and supply chain risk in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to leverage data to drive decisions and continuous improvement.
- High degree of proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to work in person in a standard office environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPSM, CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent supply chain relevant certification.
- Demonstrated ability to lead change, drive process improvements, and build scalable procurement processes in a growing organization.
- Strong understanding of inventory optimization, MRP parameters, and material planning methodologies.
- Experience with JD Edwards, Oracle or SAP ERP systems.
- Experience supporting SIOP, demand planning, and capacity planning processes.
- Experience with Power BI, advanced analytics, or digital procurement tools.
- Experience in highly regulated product manufacturing environments.
