VES is seeking a Program Manager/Chief of Staff with experience in developing engagement strategies to join our exciting team at Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) with the Unmanned Maritime Systems Program Office. You would be part of an exciting team involving impactful work.
The opportunity is perfect for a strategic thinker—an articulate, technically proficient individual who is able to manage numerous program schedules and objectives to provide insightful recommendations to Unmanned Maritime Systems Office Program Managers. The ideal candidate will be able to utilize strategic methodologies, particularly in enhancing processes and operations. The ideal candidate has an extensive background in Navy surface or submarine operations. The candidate will collaborate closely with program managers and engage with executive leadership across government, industry, research and development, and user communities. Key qualifications include experience in DoD acquisition policies and procedures, demonstrated understanding of the diverse stakeholders involved in the unmanned maritime enterprise, an understanding of the state of technology development in unmanned systems, and experience in effectively briefing and engaging with senior military and government leadership.
The anticipated work location is in Washington Navy Yard, on site, with potential for light telework.
Travel: less than 10%.

Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
- 15+ years of relevant work experience
- Ability to develop and recommend strategies of multiple platforms
- Effective communicator
- Top Secret security clearance
- Served as a commanding officer of a submarine or surface warship.
- Experience with NAVSEA or other undersea development work
- Master’s degree or PMP certificate
