Job Title : Senior Software Engineer
Description We are looking for a senior engineer who is a versatile all-rounder and has experience with day to day Operational level troubleshooting as well as good skills in developing scalable software systems. We are expecting this engineer to initially focus on analyzing operational issues, suggest potential solutions satisfying performance, scalability and security aspects and describe improvements where possible. The successful candidate will then move on to contributing to the development of new features and tools as well as helping to plan and innovate, bringing software best practices to existing solutions. He/She will be just as motivated by tinkering and improving the current systems as searching out the latest technologies. About You * A successful candidate is a software engineer able to design a solution that scales to 1000s of users, while not requiring an army of heroes to maintain * Will help building, testing and deploying this solution, and feel satisfied not when she/he’s the only person on earth able to understand it, but rather when she/he can take holidays with no fear of being called * Is not driven by the approval rates of her/his own ideas, but by the success of team driven projects * Will be able to disagree and commit when needed * Will also be able to mentor younger team members in their technical growth, as well as help the team implement best software development practices. Your Responsibilities * Work with geographically distributed teams to deliver development and testing environments in an automated, scalable, stable, self service way to our end users. * Use your troubleshooting and triage skills to provide assistance to solve escalated operational and end users issues. * Implement improvement initiatives such as methodologies, standards, processes, and tools to make teams more efficient. * Lead and mentor other engineers in the team Required Experience * 5+ years software and systems delivery experience. Proven record of building scalable and maintainable solutions * Strong development experience in AWS, Chef, Docker, Linux Shell Scripting, Bash Scripting, and Jenkins * Experience with Relational and NoSQL (Riak, MongoDB, etc) databases * Good knowledge in distributed systems, concurrency, multithreading and design principles * Experience with Agile Principles and best practices Experience: 3-4 years
