Security Guard at Akron Art Museum – Akron, Ohio

We are seeking a responsible and vigilant Security Guard to join our team. The Security Guard is responsible for protecting the safety and security of our premises, assets, and personnel. The ideal candidate will have excellent observation skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to remain calm in emergency situations.

• Patrol and monitor the premises to ensure the safety and security of the facility, assets, and personnel.
• Monitor security cameras, alarms, and other security systems to detect any potential threats or breaches.
• Respond to emergency situations and take appropriate action, such as contacting the police or fire department.
• Conduct regular checks and inspections of the premises, including the perimeter, entrances, gardens and exits.
• Maintain detailed records and logs of all security-related incidents and activities.
• Communicate effectively with management, employees, and other stakeholders regarding security-related matters.
• Assist with the implementation and enforcement of security policies and procedures.
• Participate in security-related training and professional development opportunities.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in a security or law enforcement role is preferred
• Strong observation and problem-solving skills
• Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in emergency situations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records
• Physical fitness and the ability to stand for long periods of time
