Production Mechanic in Jessup, Maryland at Stanley Pearlman Enterprises

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a skilled Production Mechanic to join our team. As a Production Mechanic, you will perform maintenance and repairs on machines and equipment used throughout the facility. This position is located at our facility in Jessup, MD and the schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm (and Sundays as needed).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Repair, or replace major system components, including circuit boards and other electrical parts, hydraulic, mechanical, L.P. systems, power steering and transmissions.
• Perform general equipment, machine and engine maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose most material handling equipment components.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and shop.
• Be able to troubleshoot and diagnose most electrical systems on IC and electric forklifts.
• Perform and maintain proper battery maintenance on electric equipment.
• Follow all safety procedures while performing work, as well as following all company policies.
• Properly identify and order all necessary replacement parts.
• Account for all parts, materials, tools and consumables used as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• One to two years of related work experience
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred
• High school diploma, G.E.D. or tech school graduate preferred
• A valid driver’s license must be maintained at all times
• Minimum two years of experience in repair and maintenance on material handling equipment
• Read and understand electrical and hydraulic system schematics
• Must be capable of becoming certified to operate equipment
• Must be willing and able to frequently push, pull, kneel, bend and reach
• Keep an adequate set of personal tools as required
• Solid foundation of mechanical aptitude and ability
• Able to work safely and follow company rules and procedures
• Ability to use hand and power tools
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
• Must be physically capable of accessing parts of the machine needing repairs or maintenance, either by kneeling or lying on back
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time
• Prolonged periods of moving around the production floor
• Work is performed in warehouse setting that includes cold temperatures, high noise levels, bright lights, and stairs
