We are currently seeking an experienced:

SENIOR DIRECTOR - IT SECURITY

Full Time, Days (Hybrid)

JOB SUMMARY:

  1. Strategic Leadership in IT Security
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive information security strategy aligned with organizational objectives.
    • Lead the IT Security team in designing and implementing best-in-class security practices, policies, and protocols.
    • Establish and enforce security standards, ensuring consistent application across all systems and processes.
  2. Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management
    • Ensure compliance with healthcare IT security regulations, including HIPAA, PCI-DSS, SOX, and other relevant standards.
    • Conduct regular security risk assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities, mitigate risks, and ensure ongoing compliance.
    • Serve as the primary liaison for security audits and regulatory reviews.
  3. Incident Response and Threat Management
    • Establish and lead the organization’s incident response process, ensuring effective management of security events.
    • Monitor and investigate security incidents, breaches, and vulnerabilities, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
    • Proactively research and respond to evolving cybersecurity threats and trends.
  4. Policy Development and Implementation
    • Create and maintain security policies and procedures that address data protection, system access, and information handling.
    • Collaborate with Privacy Officers to align security policies with privacy and compliance requirements.
    • Lead efforts to secure electronic protected health information (ePHI) and ensure proper audit controls are in place.
  5. Education and Awareness
    • Develop and deliver security training programs to staff at all levels to promote a culture of security awareness.
    • Foster an environment of accountability and adherence to security best practices throughout the organization.
  6. Collaboration and Leadership
    • Partner with senior leadership, departmental heads, and external vendors to align security initiatives with business needs.
    • Lead vendor evaluations, contract negotiations, and third-party risk management related to IT Security.
    • Represent the organization’s security program in executive and stakeholder discussions.
    • Leads the IT Security Team employees in facilitating personal growth and advancement in security knowledge.
  7. Innovation and Continuous Improvement
    • Stay abreast of emerging security technologies, tools, and methodologies, recommending and implementing advancements as needed.
    • Continuously evaluate and enhance the security program to address the organization’s evolving needs and threats.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive leadership experience in IT Security, with at least 5 years in healthcare IT security.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP, or similar are required.
  • Strong expertise in healthcare information security management.
  • Extensive knowledge of security frameworks, such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and tools, including SIEM solutions and vulnerability scanners.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage security incidents and lead investigations effectively.
  • Exceptional communication skills to translate complex security issues for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills, particularly in high-pressure situations.
