Title of Position:Assistant/Associate/Professor, Tenure Track (open rank)

Overview: The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston (UTMB) School of Public and Population Health (SPPH) is the newest of five schools. SPPH began as the former Preventive Medicine and Population Health (PMPH) Department, established in 1912. As such, SPPH has a rich history of advancing preventive medicine and community health practice, education, and research for over 100 years! SPPH faculty are uniformly invested in leveraging research as a tool actualize our mission, which is to achieve 'Better Health for All'.

Within the Department of Population Health and Health Disparities (PHHD), our mission is to be positioned as the premier academic program leading research, scholarship, and education in population health in Texas with a national and global reach. Specific Job-Related Duties: Conduct high quality research and disseminate findings through publications, collaborate with researchers at UTMB and researchers at the local, regional, national, and/or global level; obtain, sustain, and grow external funding for research and/or training programs; participate on current UTMB research grants and contracts; compete for, secure, and sustain funding for new projects; teach SPPH courses; advise and mentor graduate and/or medical students; serve on thesis and dissertation committees

Required Qualifications:

• At the level of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor

• Have a PhD, DrPH, or equivalent degree

• Sufficient years of related experience

• A track record of funded research as PI and/or Co-I

• Demonstrate familiarity with their specialty field

• Illustrate experience with working with and/or building collaborative teams, and

• Have a comprehensive understanding of a multidisciplinary academic health sciences environment.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in health policy or environmental health (e.g., environmental science, toxicology). Moderate to significant teaching or training experience. Master of Public Health preferred.

Salary: Commensurate with experience.
