Reimbursement Specialist at North Kansas City Hospital – North Kansas City, Missouri

SUMMARY: SUMMARY: Under the direction of the department director, performs general secretarial/ receptionist/clerical duties for the Rehabilitation Services Department. Our reimbursement specialists perform all pre and post checks on patient's insurances for therapy services. They educate the patient on how their insurance pays and what their financial responsibility may be. They are also involved in calling new patients to schedule and assisting our front office team with patient check in, registration and phone reception. Experience with insurance/ billing in medical setting will benefit the applicant. Having understanding of Physical, Occupational and Speech therapy is an added bonus as is medical terminology background. Attention to details is very important for this role and the ability to multi-task in a busy fast paced clinic. This position is in the clinic setting so you are available to assist in talking to patients and staff on insurance benefits. Position works 9:30am - 6:00 pm. This posiiton will be located physically at 5400 North Oak Trafficway.

EXPERIENCE: Knowledge of medical terminology; basic knowledge of insurance/billing issues

SPECIAL SKILLS: Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
