Line Cook & Jr. Sous Chef

Overview: Upscale fine dining restaurant located in Downtown Mount Dora that focuses on delivering fresh and local ingredients in culinary dishes. in this position, you will work at the restaurant and working off site preparing food for Catering events.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare food items according to company recipes

• Must follow company procedures, food & sanitary procedures, safety procedures, and plating execution to ensure consistency, as well as, presentation

• Must be able to follow necessary procedures to accommodate guests with allergies.

• Keep supervision on food quality and guest service issues

• Communicates with team members about ticket times and dish modifications

• Prepare work station for food service, including prep, at the beginning and end of each shift

• Must follow kitchen cleaning procedures

• May perform additional tasks given by the Supervisor

Qualification Requirements:

• Must have strong focus in guest satisfaction

• Work in a hands-on fast-paced environment that requires multi-tasking

• Ability to stand and walk throughout the entire shift

• Communication skills to ensure clear communication between team members

• Adding, subtracting, multiplying, and division in all units of measure and common fractions and decimals

• Understand written recipes, directions, prep lists, etc.

• Exposure to heat, open flames, smoke, cleaning chemicals, and cold temperatures

• Must be able to work under pressure and resolve issues and questions with management team

• Work with sharp objects and cooking equipment

Education Requirements:

• Culinary Experience

• Equivalent formal education

Compensation:

• Line Cook – $14/hr-$18/hr

• Jr. Sous Chef – $18/hr-$22/hr – depending upon skill level and experience

Physical Demands:

• While performing duties on shift, a team member may be required to lift or move objects up to 50 pounds

• Will be required to stand for long duration of time, walk, use hands/fingers, and reach with hands and arms

• Requires the ability to see close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
