Overview

The Department of Neuroscience at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine seeks a Psychology Assistant (PA) to be responsible for collection and management of study participant data. Data collection will include working as a member of a team with other research assistants to collect EEG, MRI, and neuropsychological data from study participants for an NIH funded study investigating cancer-related cognitive impairments. The PA will receive training in collecting these measures. The PA will have the opportunity to participate in specific research projects within the study that are of interest to them and attend research conferences.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit subjects to participate in the study by using approved methodologies, including telephone prescreen to determine study eligibility.
  • Schedule appointments of study participants; conducts reminder phone calls and/or sends mailouts.
  • Maintain up-to-date study documents related to recruitment, consent, and testing.
  • Consent study participants, including explaining research procedures, and obtaining informed consent from legal guardians and assent from children.
  • Review data collection forms for each enrollee for completion and quality; ensures timely and accurate entry.
  • Conduct test sessions that include EEG experiments and neuropsychological test batteries.
  • Post-process EEG data to prepare for data analysis.
  • Score and maintain all cognitive test results. Enter data in the study database with precision and accuracy.
  • Assist in MRI test sessions as needed
  • Begin to synthesize and interpret results. May prepare written and verbal status reports. Uses statistical and graphic summaries.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; coursework in psychology or a science-related field preferred.
  • Some Experience is preferred, but not required
  • Proficiency with basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and data entry using a computer data system. Coding skills a plus
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Interest in working with children and elderly individuals.
  • Willingness to learn new clinical skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team setting and independently is essential

Hiring Rate:$26.88

Post Probationary Rate:$27.42

Job Rate:$28.26
