About This Position

Job Summary
Assesses patient for nutritional risk factors, educates patients on therapeutic diets as needed and establish treatment plans for medical nutrition therapy.

Job Duties:

  • Assists others in maintaining a clean facility.
  • Assesses patients for Nutritional Risk Factors
  • Must be available by ping or phone to assist with clinical functions, as needed.
  • Instructs inpatients and their families concerning diet therapy.
  • Collaborates with providers for improvement in nutritional status of patients using appropriate nutritional assessment/follow-up procedures.
  • Establishes treatment plans for medical nutrition therapy.
  • Educates employees, staff, and community on nutritional topics.
  • Meets hospital, department, and The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics educational requirement of CEU’s (12 per year)
  • Recommends and helps plan the overall clinical needs of the facility.
  • Aides in PI monitoring.
  • Meet’s WRMC’s attendance expectations as defined in the Personnel Policy/Procedure Manual.
  • Adheres to WRMC’s Dress Code Policy
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervision
  • Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree in Dietetics/Nutrition/Foodservice.
  • Completion of an approved Dietetic Internship and eligible for registration.
  • Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration, or eligible
  • Licensure with the State of Arkansas preferred
  • Must be Registered Dietitian or Registry eligible with plans to take exam at time of hire. Arkansas license preferred. Must have a valid Arkansas Licensure.

  • EXPERIENCE:
    At least one year experience as a Clinical Dietitian in Acute Care and/or Long-Term Care preferred. Food production and service experience desirable. Computer entry experience desirable.

    COMMUNICATION SKILLS

  • Verbal ability to communicate to staff. Co-workers, doctors, nursing, and upper management. Many events will require public speaking.
  • Written ability to communicate to doctors and nurses through charting process.
  • Ability to analyze, organize, and lead others.
  • Must have general knowledge of word processing and good computer skills.
  • Ability to make emergency decisions without supervision.
  • Ability to comprehend a wide range of clinical skills and coordination of education when working with staff.
  • Ability to work from standards set by Arkansas State Health Department.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
    Must be able to stand, sit, or walk for long periods of time. May be required to work long hours in an emergency.

    Essentials:

  • Must be able to report to work fit for duty and free of any adverse effects of illegal drugs, medical marijuana, prescription medication, and/or alcohol.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with other individuals.
