General Accounting Specialist II at SupportNinja – Connecticut

What does a day in the life as a General Accounting Specialist look like?

• Main tasks: handling AP, corresponding Zendesk inquiries in between vendor, hopefully handle AR inquiries, booking daily cash transactions, month end close in NetSuite, handle payroll, reconciliation
• Oversee and process day-to-day accounting activities, including but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, T&E, cash management and general ledger maintenance
• Monthly and quarterly close process to ensure accurate results are delivered and reported timely in accordance to GAAP
• Posting daily cash activity, preparing journal entries, account reconciliations and fluxes
• Semi-monthly payroll processing
• Revenue recognition and lease & sublease accounting
• Preparing financial statements for investor relations and internal decision-making
• Partner with cross-functional teams to help drive key initiatives & process improvements
• Quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
• Assist with investor reporting, internal and external audits, and tax filings
• Other special ad-hoc projects as assigned

What are the required qualifications of a General Accounting Specialist?

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting, CPA or CPA Eligible
• 1-3 years of Big 4 experience strongly preferred (PWC, EY, KPMG and Deloitte)
• 1-2 years of startup accounting experience a plus
• Tools: NetSuite, Salesforce, Airbase, Zendesk, Rippling, Navan (admin access), Slack, Google Suite
• Must have experience in software: NetSuite, Tech and SaaS experience on Subscription revenue model
