About This Position
ATA Services is looking to hire a Language Access Specialist to work a long-term temporary position. This position is remote; however, the selected candidate MUST live in New Mexico.
- Pay Rate: $60 per hour with weekly pay
- Start Date: ASAP
- Part time = 20 hours per week
- Remote
Responsibilities:
- Outreach & Recruitment: Develop and implement strategies to connect with and recruit potential community members and internal staff for the medical interpreter training program. This involves building and maintaining relationships with community organizations, designing and executing targeted advertising campaigns, and organizing and conducting information sessions in relevant languages and locations.
- Curriculum Adaptation: Review and adjust the existing Community and Medical Interpreters training curriculum to ensure it meets the unique needs of community members. This includes evaluating and adapting program content, incorporating experienced community interpreters as mentors or trainers, and considering flexible scheduling options.
- Training Delivery: Deliver the adapted training program to community participants, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to become qualified medical interpreters.
- Ongoing Support & Development: Develop and implement ongoing support and resources for community-trained interpreters. This includes identifying and coordinating continuing education opportunities, establishing mentorship programs, and fostering a network for peer support and shared experiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in community engagement, outreach, or program coordination.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and interpreting standards.
- Strong understanding of cultural sensitivity and communication.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Experience with curriculum development and training delivery.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
