Works with patients to restore highest or maintain their highest possible functional level. Performs individualize activity plan of maintenance walking.

The Mobility Technician

  • Provides direct Early Mobility care and delegated tasks as assigned, completing work accurately, safely and in a timely manner.

  • Participates in team meetings providing patient progress.

  • Follows the plan of care directives.

  • Participates in QA programs related to function.

  • Performs vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen level before activity begins or other mobility care prior to ambulation. Incorporates monitoring equipment during activity session as instructed and reports needs to supervising nurse, CTL, Charge Nurse, or Director.

  • Initiates Coordination/schedule mobility plan with nursing to allow successful completion of activity sessions. Utilizes knowledge of patients schedule such as dialysis, tests, and procedures when coordinating mobility plan.

  • Understands the duties of the Early Mobility Program and assists with interpreting and providing orientation and ongoing education to staff.

  • Documents in patients electronic medical record using daily note format.

  • Executes effective time management skills by utilizing walking lists, self-scheduling effectively, and meeting productivity expectations.

What We Require:

Education: High school Diploma or equivalent education required.

Life Support: AHA BLS - HCP certification required.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Completes hospital orientation and yearly requirements for performance evaluation. Completes unit orientation and mobility competencies and maintains annual competencies. Good interpersonal skills and effective communication. Ability to work in a fast paced and often changing healthcare environment. Basic knowledge of computer skills to perform data entry for changes and/or completing of activity plan. Must possess the capability to understand medical terminology.
