What You'll Be Doing
  • Prepare a variety of food items including meats, poultry, seafood, vegetables, and cold foods.
  • Checks and controls the proper storage of products, monitoring age and condition of all food items to rotate and maintain highest quality.
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Meet with leaders to review assignments, anticipated business levels, and changes.
  • Prepare all menu items according to standard recipes and yield guides.
  • Work independently at assigned workstation to prep menu items.
  • Communicate needs of support during busy periods to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Inform leaders of excess items that may be used elsewhere or in specials.
  • Store food properly in accordance with the Health Department and hotel standards.
  • Minimize waste and maintain food cost controls.
  • Review work status and follow-up items with leaders before end of shift.
  • Visually inspect food for quality and alert leadership of any concerns.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks as assigned, using standard cleaning products.
  • Keep floors dry and clean to prevent slip/fall hazards.
  • Assist with additional duties such as moving supplies and cleaning unexpected spills.

This position starts as a 90-day seasonal-to-hire role. After the 90-day period, there is the potential to be offered a regular full-time position, which includes access to our comprehensive benefits package.

• First Year: 88 hours/year (max 120)
• 1–5 Years: 128 hours/year (max 160)
• 5–10 Years: 168 hours/year (max 200)

Schedule

2:00PM - 10:00PM (flexes based on business needs)
We’re a 24/7/365 day operation, so weekend and holiday availability is a must
The ability to move between AM and PM shifts is highly desired

Compensation

Depending on your skill set the range for this position is

22-24 /hour

Cook II 22.00 /Hour

Cook III 24.00 /Hour

Responsibilities

Cook II Qualifications

  • Intermediate knife and safety skills
  • Good working knowledge of kitchen equipment (stoves, ovens, broilers, etc.)

  • Intermediate sauté techniques and good working knowledge of frying station

  • Strong understanding of pantry fundamentals and cold food prep

  • Knowledge of sanitation standards and proper food handling

  • Familiarity with refrigeration equipment and safe storage practices

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to follow recipes and communicate effectively

  • Minimum formal education of a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Ability to obtain and maintain required licenses or certificates, including a Washington State food handler’s card

  • Consistent and efficient performance under pressure

  • Strong time management skills; completes tasks in a timely manner

  • Preferred: additional language ability
  • Preferred: prior restaurant cooking experience in a high-volume kitchen or resort setting

Cook III Qualifications

  • Expert knife skills and safety
  • Must be able to read recipes and follow measurement instructions accurately.
  • Good working knowledge of operating all kitchen equipment, i.e., stoves, ovens, broilers, kettles, steamers, etc.
  • Good working knowledge of broiler, sauté, fry, roast, moist heat, and other advanced methods. Heavy emphasis on stocks sauces and working sauté station.
  • Good working knowledge of pantry fundamentals and cold food preparation techniques.
  • Good working knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation.
  • Familiarity with refrigeration equipment and safe storage practices.
  • Culinary or Apprenticeship program preferred
  • Basic mathematical skills are necessary to understand recipes, measurements, requisition amounts and portion sizes.
  • Minimum formal education of a high school diploma
  • Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Preferred prior resort and restaurant cooking experience in a high-volume kitchen or resort setting.
  • Additional language ability is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Majority of daily tasks involve standing, hearing, talking, smelling, tasting, near vision, walking, grasping, and far vision.

  • Occasionally required to climb stairs, crouch/bend/stoop, reach, push/pull, and lift or carry up to 50+ lbs.

  • Must be able to work in confined spaces and tolerate exposure to extreme temperatures.
