About This Position
Position Summary
Supervises a team of security officers to ensure the protection and safety of the facility, patients and employees. The Security Supervisor leads a team through the identification and prevention of situations that put people and property at risk and to provide excellent customer service patrolling campus grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry.
Essential Duties
- Supervises and develops an effective staff: providing effective communication, leadership, guidance and resources. Determines staff qualifications and competency: interviews, trains, orients, mentors, evaluates, coaches, counsels, and recommends discipline to the Manager.
- Ensures all departmental policies and procedures are followed and supervises the staff to assist the Manager with annual evaluations.
- Fills in on various shifts to cover vacations, sick or other scheduled leaves within the department.
- Conducts incident investigations, some of which may be confidential and required to be conducted after hours.
- Ensures facility incidents and applicable paperwork are properly documented and submitted to management for review.
- Manages security staff scheduling to include the daily schedule of all assigned security personnel. Manages staff overtime utilization.
- Performs daily patrols of the facility and identifies realized or potential issues. Documents and shares finding with management.
- Oversees security vehicles to ensure they are properly maintained and clean.

Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or Equivalent required.
- Work Experience: Minimum of 4 years of security experience and 2 years of management/supervisory experience in a security service setting preferred. Experience in a hospital setting preferred.
- Special Training, Certification or Licensure: Must have and maintain a valid Security Guard License.
Salary Range: $27.54 - $36.42
