A Pet's Choice Veterinary Care is looking for aVeterinary Technician to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

About You

As a Vet Tech, you'll play an important role in pets' lives by providing comprehensive care throughout their journey. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to surgery assistance, to support services including admitting and discharging patients.

Role Responsibilities:

Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
With each hospital function, assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain a positive patient flow.
Assist with surgeries and procedures.
Receive, handle, and treat patients with skill, compassion, and care including accurately performing laboratory tests.
Use safe restraining techniques and follow standard protocols.
Sustain a clean, sterile, organized environment including general areas, treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
Accurately dispense and administer medications under the supervision of a doctor.
Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems
Ability to observe the animal's appearance and activity for general physical condition, obvious signs of illness,disease, and discontent.
Regular attendance and timeliness are essential functionsin order tofulfill the requirements of this position.
Strong communication and client service skills. Ability to work with clients and patients in a professional, friendly, and hospitable manner.
Work well with all team members and ensure that your actions support the hospital, the doctors, and the practice philosophy.
Other responsibilities as assigned.

Experience & Skills Requirements:

Familiar with veterinary medicine terminology
Proficient in the use, care, sterilization, and storage of veterinary instruments, materials, and equipment.
Familiarity with standard procedures used in various treatments to prepare and provide assistance
Understanding of client service principles, including assessing needs, meeting quality standards, and evaluating satisfaction.
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
Exhibit a positive attitude and a desire for continuous learning
2 years of veterinary experience – strong veterinary technical skills required
LVT preferred
