Thermal Spray Operator at New Tech Global Staffing – Cleveland, Texas

New Tech Global Staffing is currently seeking a Thermal Spray Operator (Plasma) for a client located in Houston, TX to join our team. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity.

Pay: $25 – $38/hour (based on experience and qualifications)
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 1st Shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM)
Employment Type: Full-Time

Responsible for operating plasma spray equipment to apply thermal coatings to metal components in a precision manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in thermal spray processes, particularly plasma spraying, and a strong commitment to quality and safety.

• Set up, calibrate, and operate plasma spray equipment to apply coatings
• Prepare parts for coating (masking, grit blasting, cleaning)
• Interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and process specifications
• Conduct in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other gauges
• Troubleshoot and adjust spray parameters to ensure coating quality
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety protocols
• Record process data and complete production documentation
• Assist in equipment maintenance and basic troubleshooting

• High School Diploma or GED required; technical training a plus
• Minimum 2 years of experience with thermal spray processes, especially plasma spray
• Familiarity with HVOF or HVAF is a plus
• Ability to read blueprints and follow detailed work instructions
• Strong understanding of coating applications and surface preparation techniques
• Good manual dexterity and attention to detail
• Strong commitment to quality, safety, and teamwork

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Tolerance to high-temperature environments (with PPE)
• Comfortable working around industrial equipment and coatings
