Responsibilities

Trace Systems is seeking an experienced Field Service Representative (FSR) to support training, platform installation, operational field support, and network management for forward-deployed operations in the CENTCOM region. The primary location is Arifjan, Kuwait, with frequent travel throughout Iraq and Syria, and potential TDY assignments to Europe, Asia, and South America. The role requires the ability to operate in deployed environments, troubleshoot service issues, perform maintenance, and install, configure, and test VSAT and terrestrial Internet café services.


MWR Internet Connect Program is a satellite and terrestrial communication program that provides deployed US service members and support staff contractors with Internet access at deployed locations. The FSRs are the customers’ first contact with the MWR Internet Connect Program as the most direct and immediate source of feedback for system performance, operational expectation, and overall operational value. Trace Systems is looking for FSRs with the ability to navigate the deployed environment, resolve service problems, perform maintenance, and install, configure, and test VSAT and terrestrial Internet cafe systems. This position is part of a pipeline, meaning it's not currently open but may become available in the near future.

FSRs will be responsible for:

  • Communications equipment and services.
  • Troubleshooting VSAT, LAN, and WLAN hardware using test instruments and diagnostic tools.
  • Preparing VSAT, and baseband equipment for installation by inventorying, testing, or modifying equipment as required.
  • Cabling assemblies and associated VSAT and LAN devices IAW established standards and Government-articulated design, fabrication, and installation specifications.
  • Candidate shall support the execution and evaluation of VSAT, LAN and WLAN and related equipment and technologies during its use in operational theaters.
  • Candidate shall coordinate the introduction of Internet cafe related technologies and equipment with various operational commands and/or Agencies and their supporting organizations.
  • Candidate shall facilitate the distribution, deployment, installation, training, and preventive maintenance of Internet cafe equipment in each operational theater working with DISA, operational commands, and other as necessary.
  • Candidate will be required to work 72 hours per week.
  • Candidate shall be on call to provide 24x7 onsite support to operational forces conducting real world operations.
  • Shall develop formal practices and procedures for the operational fielding of Internet cafe sponsored technologies.
  • Travel to support mission ~50%.
  • Living and operating in austere and rugged contingency combat environments.
  • Travel throughout the region as needed, including to small FOBs and bases across the CENTCOM AOR.
  • Carrying up to 50 pounds for distances of up to ¼ mile.
  • Working outside for extended hours in temperatures exceeding 100°F.
  • Bending, kneeling, or crawling to route cables under, inside, and on top of vehicles.
  • Working on ladders and multi-story buildings to install antennas.
  • Living and working in deployed contingency environments (shared cafeteria, shared bath/sleeping quarters, limited amenities).
Qualifications

  • Due to the nature of the work and US Government requirements, this position requires an active, in-scope Secret clearance.
  • Due to US Government requirements, US Citizenship is required.
  • Experience with ISP/OSP cabling, VSAT, Cisco routing and firewall technology, IP fundamentals, and desktop & peripheral technologies.
  • Must be in good health and have the ability to successfully complete medical examinations as dictated by the U.S. Army (CRC).
  • Working understanding of Army/Marine Corps logistic forms policy and procedures or need to understand basic military concepts.
  • Possess a current United States Passport valid at least until 2027.
  • Possess a valid United States Driver’s License in good standing.
  • Must be able to obtain a valid FBI background check to obtain Kuwait residency visa.
