About This Position
The Senior Center Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing a variety of general maintenance, custodial, and support duties to ensure the safe, clean, and orderly operation of the Senior Center and its grounds. This role supports the overall function of the center by preparing spaces for daily activities, maintaining equipment and facilities, and providing assistance during meal services.
Supervision Received:
Work is performed under the general supervision of the Senior Center Coordinator.
Specific duties and responsibilities:

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required sit, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; the employee must regularly stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. Employee must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Specific duties and responsibilities:
- Grounds up keep including mowing, landscape maintenance, and snow removal.
- Set up and take down of tables and chairs according to scheduled activities
- Assist with daily luncheon
- Light janitorial duties including but not limited to trash removal, maintaining light fixtures, cleaning vents and cold air returns
- Minor repair work
- Monitor fire extinguishers and AED monthly
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
- Maintain compliance with all Township policies and procedures
- Maintain CPR, AED and First Aid Certifications
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualification for Employment:
- Ability to work in an environment where services, classes, and meals are provided to senior citizens in our community.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given.
- AED/CPR Certified preferred.
- Employee must provide and wear OSHA/ASTM approved safety toed shoes or boots.
- Possess and maintain a valid Michigan Driver’s License
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug testing and criminal background check.
- Must be available to work irregular hours, weekends, and holidays.
