Healthy Connections is seeking an Insurance Enrollment Specialist/Community Health Worker to guide individuals and families through the health insurance process and connect them to the community support they need. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building relationships, solving problems, and reducing barriers to care.
Key Responsibilities- Guide patients through the health insurance enrollment process, including Qualified Health Plans, Medicaid, and CHIP.
- Provide education on plan options, benefits, costs, and available financial assistance.
- Conduct outreach and community education to raise awareness of coverage and services.
- Assist patients with accessing resources such as food, housing, transportation, and legal support.
- Collaborate with community partners and maintain up-to-date knowledge of local resources.
- Document all services in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and support Healthy Connections initiatives.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Must obtain a Health and Life insurance license for the State of Arkansas (support provided for training/certification).
- Certified Community Health Worker (CHW) certification through the Arkansas Community Health Worker Association (ARCHWA), or commitment to obtain within 12 months of hire.
- Valid Arkansas driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- Bilingual (Spanish-English) applicants strongly encouraged to apply.
- Experience in community outreach, engagement, or health education preferred.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office and electronic systems.
This position is based in Hot Springs with travel in the surrounding service area for outreach and community events. Travel requirements can vary, but no overnight travel is expected, and mileage is reimbursed.
The typical schedule is Monday through Thursday, 7:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. However, some evening and weekend hours may be required to support events and outreach activities. Flexibility is important in this role, as community needs may extend beyond traditional clinic hours.
Training & SupportHealthy Connections provides onboarding and ongoing training to ensure staff have the knowledge and resources they need to succeed. Candidates will also complete state-required training and certifications for this position, with support from Healthy Connections to maintain compliance and best practices.
