About This Position
Performs a variety of tasks to support student success such as career direction and guidance through the admission process for various programs. Day-to-day tasks may include meeting prospective students and helping them apply to the college, answering calls and emails, reviewing, verifying and entering data in support of the area’s daily operations. In addition, this position will also be an active participant in program orientation sessions and marketing outreach.
Requires an Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution and one year of office experience.
OR a High School Diploma or Equivalency with 3 or more years of office or customer service experience.

Experience in a higher education or workforce development setting
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:
Typical office environment; infrequently lifting and carrying items up to 20 lbs.; infrequently twisting or bending at the waist or reaching overhead; infrequently traveling between buildings on campus or to other campuses; frequently listening to and talking with students, faculty and other staff members either in person or by telephone; frequently sitting at a desk or workstation using a computer display, keyboard, and mouse.

- Meets with prospective students to provide information and guidance to assist in their transition to a college environment via email, phone, face to face and virtually.
- Reviews college & program admission requirements and refers prospective students to placement testing and pre-enrollment steps, if necessary. Assists students in college admission process.
- Explains policies, procedures, and program requirements and assists students in selecting educational and career goals.
- Assist students in financial aid and scholarship application processes.
- Collaborates and communicates with Navigators, Advisors, Customer Service, Records, and Program area staff and maintains updated flyers, website, and informational documents.
- Stays abreast of all program application requirements and revisions to promote career awareness and outreach activities.
- Supports outreach activities such as tours, school visits, Open House events and works with community partners to ensure all are aware of program options.
- Organizes and leads workshops to share information about program options, career development, and other topics of interest to students.
- Tracks student completion and success and distributes certificates.
- Serves as point of contact for departmental processes and procedures; responds to inquiries and requests; serves as an informational resource to faculty, staff and community partners. Completes forms and ensures reports are submitted by deadlines.
- May perform project-related coordination including maintaining calendar, organizing appointments and events, making travel arrangements and preparing authorizations for reimbursement, processing timesheets and invoices, and ordering supplies.
- Performs other tasks as assigned.

- Knowledge of standard office procedures and equipment; Microsoft Office, and Adobe skills
- Knowledge of college systems such as BrightSpace, Datatel, My College, etc.
- Writing and proofreading skills; Attention to detail
- Initiative to lead and assist students in admission process as needed
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task to support multiple programs
- Ability to work with the public and individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Strong customer service skills: Ability to work internally w/ faculty, staff & students
- Willingness to contribute creatively to process improvements and outreach
