About This Position
Lincoln Parks and Recreation is looking for a Sports Fields Supervisor to keep our outdoor athletic fields in championship condition and games running smoothly. From scheduling games and tournaments to supervising staff and overseeing concessions, this role ensures our community has great places to play under the open sky
What You’ll Do
Graduation from high school or equivalent supplemented by college-level coursework in recreation, physical education or related field plus two years of experience working with people of all age groups in a recreational setting involving athletic program and staff supervision; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills.
Hours:
Full-Time Monday–Friday, 8:00–4:30 with evenings & weekends as needed.
What You’ll Do
- Coordinate the schedule of city outdoor sports fields for leagues, clubs, tournaments, schools, and community members.
- Oversee concessions at outdoor ballfield complexes (like Densmore and Lewis) from staffing to inventory.
- Manage budgets, expenses, and revenue tied to outdoor field use and concessions.
- Keep fields game-ready by working with ballfield maintenance staff to ensure safe, well-kept turf, diamonds, and grounds.
- Build partnerships with organizations, leagues, and community groups that use our outdoor facilities.
- You’ll play a central role in shaping community sports and recreation in Lincoln.
