Forklift Operator at Sparrow Company LLC – Santa Teresa, New Mexico

A food distribution organization is seeking a safety-focused and dependable Forklift Operator to support warehouse and production operations. This position plays a critical role in moving materials efficiently and safely throughout the facility while maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting production goals. The ideal candidate has forklift experience, strong attention to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Operate forklifts to load, unload, move, and stack materials safely and efficiently.
• Transport raw materials and finished goods to designated warehouse or production areas.
• Inspect forklifts daily and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns.
• Verify materials against work orders, shipping documents, or inventory records.
• Assist with inventory counts and maintain accurate material tracking.
• Stage materials for production or shipping according to schedule.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all OSHA and company safety policies and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding material needs or concerns.
• Support general warehouse and production tasks as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Previous forklift operating experience required.
• Valid forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain certification.
• Strong attention to safety and workplace procedures.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, bend, and move throughout the shift.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Must be able to work 1st or 2nd shift as assigned.
