- Requires full proficiency in a range of technical processes or procedures through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience
- Completes a variety of atypical assignments
- Works within defined technical processes and procedures or methodologies and may help determine the appropriate approach for new assignments
- Works with a limited degree of supervision, with oversight focused only on complex new assignments
- Acts as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience
- Performs manual tasks according to established procedures
Essential Functions
- By applying systems engineering theory and related knowledge, assists systems engineers with overall systems infrastructure including assisting with engineering, supporting implementation and coordinating integration projects.
- Provides technical assistance and resolution when systems or software engineering problems are encountered before, during, and after construction.
- Assists with systems and system infrastructure and prototypes according to engineering data and knowledge of system principles.
- Collaborates with systems engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve developmental systems issues.
- May support projects or participate in disaster recovery exercises.
- Required education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 5-7 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
- Preferred education and experience: Associate's Degree
- Discipline/Major: Technical training preferred
- Knowledge, skills & abilities: Technical expertise. Planning skills. Detail oriented. Manual dexterity.
- Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
- May need to stand for long periods of time.
- Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
- May be requested to work a different shift.
- Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.
