Position Summary:
Hendersonville Pediatrics is seeking a dedicated and experienced Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP or FNP with pediatric experience) to join our collaborative care team as an Advanced Practice Provider (AAP). This is primarily a direct patient care position, functioning as a physician extender within a busy pediatric practice. The NP will carry an independent clinical panel of approximately 17 or more patients per day across 3.5–4 clinical days per week, with responsibility for acute and preventive care visits. The role also includes the potential to support urgent care-style sick visit access and evening
ight clinic coverage as the practice grows. Secondary administrative duties will support the broader care team and are expected to expand as this position evolves. The selected candidate will practice under a signed Collaborative Practice Agreement (CPA) with a supervising physician in compliance with North Carolina state law.

Key Responsibilities:
Primary Clinical Duties (Advanced Practice Provider):
● Serve as a primary care provider for an independent patient panel, managing approximately 17 or more patients per day across 3.5–4 clinical days per week.
● Conduct well-child visits, acute sick visits, and follow-up appointments across the pediatric age spectrum.
● Assist in seeing same-day sick visits to support patient demand and access to care.
● Participate in evening
ight clinic coverage as the practice expands access hours.
● Provide evidence-based diagnosis, treatment, and patient/family education for common and complex pediatric conditions.
● Collaborate with supervising physicians in accordance with the Collaborative Practice Agreement (CPA), ensuring quality, safety, and scope compliance in all clinical activities.
Secondary Administrative Duties (support role; expected to evolve over time):
● Review and respond to patient documents, EMR messages, and refill/prior authorization requests in a timely manner.
● Coordinate care for patients requiring specialist referrals, follow-up, or transitions in care.
● Maintain and update patient problem lists and chronic condition management documentation in the EHR.
● Conduct patient follow-up calls as needed to monitor treatment response and ensure continuity of care.
● Contribute to the development and refinement of clinical protocols and quality improvement initiatives; additional administrative responsibilities are anticipated as this role grows.

Qualifications:
● Current NP license in the state of North Carolina (PNP-PC or FNP with pediatric experience).
● Must be eligible to enter into and maintain a signed Collaborative Practice Agreement (CPA) with a supervising physician, as required by North Carolina state law. The CPA will define the NP’s scope of practice, prescribing authority (including controlled substances), authorized procedures, quality improvement processes, and emergency protocols. The agreement must be reviewed and re-signed annually.
● National certification from an approved NP certifying body (e.g., PNCB, AANP, ANCC).
● Minimum 2 years of pediatric or family experience.
● Strong clinical assessment and communication skills.
● Proficient with EHR systems and digital communication tools.
● BLS certification required; PALS preferred.

Schedule:
Full-time, with clinical patient care days scheduled approximately 3.5–4 days per week (Monday–Friday). Remaining time is allocated to administrative duties, documentation, and care coordination. Schedule may include potential evening
