Coding Specialist – Health Information Management – Full-Time

Requirements:What to expect as a Coding Specialist:
- Work independently with the ability to problem solve.
- Utilize the appropriate use of ICD-10-CM and CPT 4 codes.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, other providers, and co-workers.
- Be responsible for timely, accurate and comprehensive coding, and abstracting of facility and professional fee coding.
- Have knowledge in multiple specialties in Hospital and/or clinic settings (Adult and Pediatric Primary Care, Orthopedics, ENT, Cardiology, Pain Management, OB/GYN, Breast Care, and Radiology). Also knowledge in outpatient surgeries, Physician Professional Fees, nursing home and or assisted living center settings.
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- 1-2 years Facility and/or Professional Fee Coding experience, required.
- 1-2 years in acute care setting, preferred.
- Licensure required: CPC, CCS, RHIT, or RHIA.
