Responsible for the administration of the operational and general business functions of a Division, including the academic and clinical components of the Division. The Operations Supervisor reports to the Academic Administrator in the Department of Medicine.
I. Major Responsibilities:
1. Supervises assigned personnel including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training. Makes recommendations on employee hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations, and similar actions. Resolves grievances and other personnel problems within position responsibilities.
2. Coordinates the assignment of tasks and helps resolve technical and operational problems. Evaluates the impact of solutions to ensure goals are achieved.
3. Develops collaborative relationships with hospital clinic management.
4. Works with the Academic Administrator to assure that compliance policies are executed for the division and participating physicians.
5. Evaluates methods and procedures or develops alternative techniques for processing work or improving the operating efficiency/effectiveness of the Division.
6. Monitors billing revenue to ensure maximum reimbursement. Reviews financial and productivity forecasts.
7. Monitors and approves expenditures during the fiscal year ensuing compliance with Budget.
8. Oversees billing and collection activities as well as reimbursements as needed.
All responsibilities are essential job functions.
II. Position Qualifications:
License/Certification/Education:
Required:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related healthcare degree.
Experience/Skill:
Required:
1. Three years of relevant work experience, one of which is in a supervisory or management capacity.
2. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
3. Proficiency in computer systems.
4. Must have ability to perform a variety of complex duties ranging from direct involvement in individual processes to overseeing projects.
Knowledge of MS office suite, including Outlook, Word, Powerpoint and excel important. Knowledge of EPIC, QGenda and Workday very helpful. Professional demeanor with ability to work collaboratively across levels and with many different personality types a must. Team-orientation with an interest in employee development key. Seeking someone with ability to apply themselves to a variety of challenges and keen problem-solving skills. Familiarity with Group Practice helpful. In-person, written and verbal communication skills necessary. Lean training very helpful.
